Cold Eggs

Eating cold eggs after sending a ticked off kid to school. Had to stick to a consequence I had promised. Had to. Now I’m wondering why the Perfect Parenting manual doesn’t arrive with the cutting of the cord on day one.

Galatians 6:9 keeps rolling through my head. “So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.”

But I DO get tired. I assume most of you do, too. Parenting is a huge joy that can also seem thankless and futile in certain seasons. If your morning has also been a challenge, I say “Stay strong, mommas! Stay strong, dads!” Because there’s a promise that if we continue, the harvest will be good.

And I’ll take that promised consequence any day.
